Tech-Connect Live Seminar Series

The Tech-Connect seminars are live seminars hosted in six partner cities by the Technology Task Force.  Each seminar features live training and interactive labs during which participants can actually use the technology about which they are learning.  Trainings are interactive, motivational and meant to introduce business owners to the best practices in technology and increase their knowledge of the tools available to do business more efficiently with technology.

Biz Tech-Connect Online Learning Tool

The tool includes six modules addressing core competency areas for small businesses including: Marketing & Advertisement, E-Commerce, Communications & Mobility, and Financial Management & Procurement

1.       A “101” presentation from an industry expert – designed to ensure business owners understanding and follow sound business practices;

2.       Information on “best of the breed” technologies – focusing on the bottom-line impact their adoption can have on an organization;

3.       Interactive, self-paced product tutorials that allow decision makers the opportunity to explore key product features; and

4.       Supplementary information such as web-casts, white papers and relevant links that can be used to further explore the topic at hand.

The tool also features case studies highlighting companies that have successfully leveraged technologies resulting in increased revenues, reduce operating expenses and/or higher productivity.  The tool will also feature a roadmap that business owners can follow to adequately assess their organization’s needs, successfully engage IT partners and find solutions that are right for them.

Over time new content will be added to the tool and old content will be refreshed to ensure business owners have the resources they need to successfully leverage technologies to realize their potential.

Awareness Campaign

Increasing awareness of technology is key to accomplishing the Task Force’s goals of increasing technology capacity and driving education about technology among minority and women enterprises.  The Task Force will drive public awareness through various activities, including grass roots relationships, community-based news sources and targeted advertising campaigns.  Importantly, the Task Force will work to leverage existing social networks to drive minority and women enterprises to solutions programs.
