How to Log In

5 Key Features of Every Module

 

When you access the Online Learning Tool, log in by entering your username and passwords in the appropriate boxes, then click the Sign In button.  Checking the Remember Login box allows you to log in automatically in the future (cookies required). 

  • If you don't remember your password, enter your username and click the Lost Password button to have your password emailed to you.

  • New user? Click the Sign up now link below the login area and follow the on-screen directions to get started.

If you try to access a part of the site that requires you to be logged in, it will prompt you with another log in screen.

1) Lessons  The lessons in each module appear on the left side of the page as shown here.  Clicking a lesson title in the module homepage launches your selected lesson in a new web browser. 

  1. Table of Contents .  The left side of the lesson screen contains a table of contents showing each slide in the lesson. The main lesson appears on the right side of the screen.  You must have the Macromedia ® Flash ® plug-in installed in your Web browser in order to view the lessons. Get the Flash player now.

    To begin taking a lesson, make sure your audio is on, and click the "Click Here to begin" link. The lesson will begin and will display each slide along with an audio voice-over.

  2. Slide buttons. The proceed button at the bottom right of the lesson screen flashes when the current slide is complete. Click this button to go on to the next slide.  During the lesson, clicking the back button takes you back to the previous slide.

To jump directly to a different chapter, click the desired chapter in the table of contents.

  1. Return.  At the end of the lesson, click the Return button at the top of the screen to return to the module home page.

2) Industry Expert Video  Each module includes a video lesson presented by an industry expert. Access this video by clicking the link in the module homepage. Ex:

The video page contains a biography about the expert, interview questions the expert tackled in the video, and a link to watch the video.

  • To view the video, click the appropriate link based on your Internet connection speed. These links are in the left column under "Watch the Video".

  • Don't have Windows Media Player? Click the link to download your free copy.  Or you can download it now.

3) Resource Center  Clicking the Resource Center link in the module home page gives you a list of valuable resources that explore relevant topics in detail. Just click your desired link to view your selected article, white paper, etc.

A resource center will have multiple information categories, which appear at the top of the screen.  These categories relates to the module it belongs to.  To switch categories, click your desired link.

4) Test Your Knowledge  After taking the lessons, watching the expert video, and browsing the Resource Center, you'll be ready to test your knowledge and earn your course completion certificate. Click the Test Your Knowledge link in the module home page to get started.

There is one quiz per lesson in each module.  Find the quiz you wish to take, then click the link to begin taking the test. Make sure you have the Macromedia ® Flash ® plug-in installed in your Web browser. A new browser window opens the quiz screen with the first question.

When you finish taking your quiz, you will be directed to your results page.  If you would like to save your results, click on the "Save My Results" link and your results will be saved in your personal Quiz Tracker.

5) Training Labs  The bottom of the module home page contains a series of labs designed to let you practice the skills presented during the lessons.  Clicking the red link launches the selected lab. Make sure you have the Macromedia ® Flash ® player installed in your Web browser and that your speakers are on.

Follow the on-screen directions to complete the lab.

When the lab is complete, clicking the Return button at the top of the screen returns you to the module home page.
